"Im after a metal polisher to get some engine parts looking new. Here is a good example of what I want to do: The problem is which one do I get what grade of pads do I need is it easier to get a polisher that clamps onto a work bench and rotate the piece im working on rather than hold the metal and polisher at the same time. Cheers"

"go for one that clamps on to bench.... much easier to work the piece round the polisher than other way round "

i was reading something other day and it suggested white vinegar? this young lad removed all his drive shafts torsian bars ball joints etc etc. soaked them in a bucket of white vinegar over night gave them a wipe down with a rough pad and they looked brand new ... and it only costs like 80p for a bottle of the stuff haha. i was considering trying it my self with a few of my car parts

"well its logical but surely couldnt the acid of the vinegar cause it to dull very quickly afterwards? (if youve ever done it with a coin youll know what i mean) i remember used chrome cleaner and a brillo pad then just used some auto glym instant show shine on my chrome pipe on my old old bravo and that came up a right treat! ah yes but under car prts get covered in rust? white vinegar removes every lsat bit of rust leaving you parts looking relatively new. id rather have a dull finish than rust
