The BMW 6 Series was based on the BMW 5 Series and refers to two generations of BMW vehicles. The first generation was called the E24 and was launched in 1976 and was intended to replace the E9. The 6 Series stopped being manufactured for 15 years until 2003 when BMW released a 6 Series available as a coupe and a convertible. These two vehicles were known as the E63/E64. The original 6 Series were released as the successor to the BMW E9 Coupes The new E24 were a lot safer than the E9. The 6 Series released in 2003 were based on the 5 Series E60.
The seats in the 6 Series are plush and comfortable. There is adequate space in the front for the driver and the front seat passenger. However, there is little room in the back for rear passengers. The lack of space will make sitting in the back on long journeys extremely uncomfortable. The driving position is excellent, with lots of choice for adjustment. The space in the boot is adequate for this type of vehicle.
There are a number of safety features of the 6 Series. The models have stability control that helps prevent loss of control. The 6 Series have brake drying fitted that helps the brake work correctly in wet conditions. The models also have brake pre-tensioning and brake fade compensation. These features recognise the brakes temperature and automatically increases its temperature to prevent any brake fading.
