The BMW 8 Series was manufactured from 1989 to 1999 and are a 2+2 Coupe, and was first launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 8 Series was not designed to be the successor of the 6 Series. In fact, the 8 Series was aimed at a completely different market and actually priced a lot higher than the 6 Series. The performance of the 8 Series was meant to be a lot higher than the 6 Series, and is completely different in design and styling. The 8 Series was originally designed and released as a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz SL Class.
The 8 Series is fitted with several features as standard. The seats have full electric adjustment, so almost everyone will find a position that is comfortable for them, and also have memory functions. The 8 Series can accommodate two passengers in the rear. The lack of headroom may make the ride a little comfortable for taller drivers. This can be fixed by reclining the front seats, however, this will greatly reduce the space in the back. There is also on board computer control for the suspension. This helps make the journeys in the car comfortable on any road surface. The interior is leather clad and the dashboard is well laid out and easy to read.
