The BMW M Roadster was produced between 1998 and 2002 and also again in 2006. The M Roadster is the performance model of the BMW Z3 and Z4 convertibles, and is rear wheel drive.
The suspension of the M Roadster uses McPherson struts in the front and uses semi-trailing arms in the rear. There are, however, differences between this model and the Z3 Roadster. The M Roadster has wider front and rear tracks, thicker roll bars and firmer springs and shocks. The brakes on the M Roadster include four wheel vented disc brakes and two piece floating front discs. There are several safety features added to this model. There are several air bags, roll over protection and anti-lock brakes.
The model is fitted with sports seats with side bolsters. The top of the inside of the Roadster is lined, which is excellent in cold weather. The rear window is made out of plastic, which may cloud, crease and will need to be regularly replacement. The unique styling of the Roadster includes features such as chrome side gills, flared rear fenders, and a sculptured air dam. The front spoiler is also more aggressive looking than the Z3. This features help make the car noticeable on the road. The license place is mounted on the trunk of the model.
